Today the variety of available systems is large and surgeon`s all over the world face the challenge to pick a suitable system for their individual needs. The choices range from digital CCD camera systems to fully integrated OR solutions. Many systems today provide its users with a variety of features from while the principles of video endoscopy have not changed.

Still today the basic set-up of any endoscopy video system consists of a camera to act as the surgeon`s eye, an insufflator to create enough space for the surgeon to maneuver and a light source to create suitable light conditions. As intended by the pioneers a video endoscopy system`s only purpose is to aid and assist the operating surgeon.

A simple operation and light weighted handling are the most important features that one should keep in mind when comparing the numerous options available.

The L-System was developed carefully overlooking these unchanged principles of video endoscopy. With the help of the original pioneers Norbert Lemke (camera) and Prof. Semm (insufflator), the L-products combine the knowledgde of over 45 years of experience in endoscopy.
