Self-opening extraction bag:
Safe and easy removal of abscised tissue

ExBag®
Features / Advantages:
Even larger tissue parts can be removed safely and easily because of wide opening
Reduction of contamination risk because of tear-resistant and fluid-impermeable foil
Trocar can be used for other instruments, because Ex-Bag is not featured with a handle
Fast insertion of the bag because of simple-to-use pusher system
Automatic opening of Ex-Bag because of "intelligent" nitinol wire

Removed tissue can be easily inserted because the Ex-Bag remains wide open after release

Safe and easy removal of abscised tissue

With minimal invasive procedures, tissue parts are in most cases removed from the patient's body. In such cases, the trocar lumen is often too narrow, necessitating compression of the tissue removed. This is then extracted through the trocar incision, which can result in contamination in the surgical area or, in the case of malignant tumors, lead to the risk of spreading tumor cells. To avoid this danger, a self-opening extraction bag, the ExBag®, was developed. The ExBag® is impermeable to fluids and tear-resistant. This allows the extracted tissue to be removed safely and protected from the surgical area. The risk of contamination is thus reduced to a minimum.

How does the ExBag® function? ->Download Photo-Manual

The extraction bag is rolled up inside a PE protective tube in sterile packaging along with an integrated pusher. The transparent, very tear-resistant ExBag® is threaded through in the top part with a memory alloy wire. After inflation of the abdomen, the extraction bag is inserted into the surgical area concerned using a 10 mm or 12 mm trocar. The pusher integrated in the protective tube enables the ExBag® to be pushed out and the memory alloy wire automatically opens it up. The "intelligent" nitinol wire with memory effect also ensures that the extraction bag remains open after being opened up, so that tissue can be inserted without problem. The protective tube and pusher can now be removed and the trocar can be reused for other instruments. If necessary, the extracted tissue can be safely compressed in the bag. The ExBag® filled with the tissue can then be removed in the closed condition along with the trocar.
